Leisure/Amusement
1053 Kanbara, Tsumagoi-mura, Agatsuma-gun, Gunma Prefecture
The park’s striking scenery is the result of the weathering over time of lava flows from the volcanic eruption of Mt. Asama. Erected within the park to commemorate the victims of the eruption is the Asamayama Kannon-do, a branch temple of the Kan’ ei-ji Temple at Ueno in Tokyo. The park affords views of the majestic Mt. Asama and the village of Tsumagoi. From mid-May to early July, when alpine plants are at their best, the carpets of wildflowers in bloom feature regularly in newspapers and other media. The park has an established record of use in film and photo shoots, including for travel magazines, travel programs, and superhero programs.
