Hirosawa 3-banchi, Wako-shi, Saitama Prefecture
Wako-Jurin Park has an area of 20.2 hectares and occupies part of the former site of the Camp Asaka base, which was taken over by the U.S. Army in 1945. The park opened in March 1989 as a contribution to creating a pleasant residential environment and a more attractive townscape.
It is also conveniently accessible from central Tokyo.
The park is much appreciated by the local population, to whom it offers a multi-purpose plaza, a place for sport and recreation, and an evacuation space for a large surrounding area.
The park includes a barbecue area* that people can enjoy without having to bring their own equipment.
There is also a covered area where filming is possible in wet weather. (The covered area is not available if booked for another event.)
*Filming during barbecue operation is possible depending on time and number of people.
(An additional charge applies for use of the barbecue facilities).
The barbecue facilities may be unavailable when busy with the general public or for other reasons.
